McLaughlin Coffee Company was founded in 1983 with the idea that the San Francisco Bay Area needed the highest-quality gourmet coffee at an affordable price. Since that time, the coffee market has blossomed into a global industry that stretches from the most expansive coffee houses to the smallest espresso stands. Great coffee has gone from being an occasional luxury to a bare necessity.
McLaughlin Coffee, however, has not lost sight of the importance of bringing the highest quality Arabica beans from the source countries to the public for consumption. My cousin owns Royal Coffee Importing Company, and I am sure it is no surprise from whom I purchase all of my green coffee. Together, we have made the commitment to buy, roast and sell the highest- quality coffee we can get our hands on, and to sell it at a fair market price. Royal Coffee frequently travels to the source countries and has direct relationships with the farmers. We at McLaughlin Coffee refuse to compromise our high-quality standards and we try to provide the freshest-roasted coffees for not only Bay Area consumers, but for consumers worldwide.
We roast coffee on a daily basis and to a variety of colors. Our medium roast is the lightest of our colors. This roast stops just before any oils appear on the beans. Our Viennese roast just begins to show oils on the beans. Our French and Italian roasts bring out all of the oils on the beans. The French and Italian roast colors are definitely the most popular among Bay Area customers. Incidentally, the darker we roast the coffee, the less caffeine you will experience in the cup.
Here in the ever-growing city of Emeryville, California, we will try to keep up with all of your increasingly well-educated tastes for the greatest cup of coffee that you can find. Come discover us. You will not be disappointed!
