I recently had a good meeting with my brother, Mark, about the future of our company website. We are very excited about the ideas that we came up with. A long-term goal is to make the website a resource for our customers and friends to visit for all their coffee needs. Although we are primarily a wholesale coffee distributor, we would like to extend our scope to a broader audience. We want to have a place for our customers to send their employees for training materials and any other questions they may have. We also want to inform the general public about the ideal ways to grind, brew, and store coffee to achieve the best cup of coffee possible.
In addition, we want to give some additional background information about our company as well as some interesting facts about the coffees you purchase from us. As Facebook and Twitter continue to grow in popularity, we will try to keep up on our updates and tweets as best we can. We are in discussion about creating McLaughlin Coffee branded products such as: shirts, mugs, tumblers, airtight containers, etc. We will let you know the progress of that project in the near future.
We just created a new organic blend this morning called “Vienna Blend.” A number of our customers have recently asked for a lighter-roasted organic coffee blend. One of my favorite parts of this industry is to create a coffee blend from scratch and have it turn into a real hit amongst our customers. We played around with several different origins and roast colors and finally we settled on a great blend. The blend is comprised of a Central American coffee as well as an Indonesian coffee. The aroma is excellent, and it has a nice, nutty finish to the cup. We then ran it through the espresso machine, and it worked equally well. For now, it is only available to our wholesale customers, but we may make it available to our web customers in the near future.
Until next time!
