ETHIOPIA OROMIA ORGANIC

Our January coffee if the month is a tasty treat! It is medium bodied and full of chocolate when it first hits your tongue. As the flavors develop on your palate, notes of fresh bread appear with a subtle acidity of sweet lemon. The chocolate notes carry through the cup to the finish and sit on your tongue like you just sneaked a pinch of cocoa powder while baking your favorite brownie recipe.
Roast Color: Medium-Dark
Cupping Notes: Cocoa Powder, Sweet Lemon, Bread
Story: Our Ethiopia Oromia Organic is sourced from family-owned farms organized around the Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (OCFCU), an umbrella organization established in 1999 to support a sustainable coffee supply from cooperatives in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. OCFCU supports 360 cooperatives with more than 332,393 farmer-members, accounting for sixty-five percent of Ethiopia’s total coffee production. Premiums from coffee exports are returned directly to farmers, and also fund organic farming programs, mill equipment purchases, and food security programs. OCFCU has established a central cupping lab to support quality control and a members’ bank that provides pre-harvest financing.
