ETHIOPIA SIDAMO
Our Ethiopia Sidamo is fruit-forward with a syrupy body and a sweet, fruity finish. It starts with notes of banana fruitiness, and then the lemon verbena and blueberry notes pop in the middle of the cup. The finish is fruity and sweet with continuing notes of banana and blueberry. This is one of our cupping team's favorites year after year.

Story: Our conventional Ethiopia Sidamo is sourced from the Guji Coffee Export PLC, which is owned and operated by Grima Edema who has more than 20 years of experience exporting coffee from the Kercha district in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. Coffee producers deliver their ripe cherries to the Grima’ s coffee washing station where the cherries are sorted an immediately placed on raised beds and dried over a period of 15 to 20 days. Then the beans are transported to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, to be milled and bagged prior to export. Grima’s full control of the processing up to the final export stage, results in an exceptionally clean and sweet cup profile.
I should have been warned by the two customers who thought this coffee made a fine expresso. A good Sidamo should be light roasted to bring out the flavor profile. Given the roast level used, the cupping notes were a joke. Either these weren't top quality Sidamo beans or they were were over-roasted. That said, the coffee tasted like a good medium-roasted Columbian coffee.
This is my favorite espresso, and I've looked far and wide. Can't recommend it enough.
My other go to coffee, Avery nice flavor, I have not found a bad coffee yet from McLaughlin coffee Co.
This coffee is one of our go-to varieties. We like that it is medium roast, and it makes great espresso. Would highly recommend.
