Our June coffee of the month is a velvety smooth, washed coffee from Oaxaca, Mexico. This sweet coffee has a wonderful balance of acidity and bitterness with a medium body. The cup starts with soft notes of tangerine zest that add just the right amount of acidity to the sweetness of milk chocolate. The middle of the cup is the most complex, where cinnamon and toasted oats notes of an oatmeal cookie heighten the sweetness of the cup. The finish is long and sweet with lovely milk chocolate notes.

You can have some fun experimenting with this versatile coffee. We love it as a pour-over. As an espresso, the brightness is accentuated. And it makes a sweet, delicious cold brew.

About the coffee of the month: We feature a new coffee every month. This allows us to explore more of the world of coffee outside of our normal offerings. It is available this month only, while supplies last. 

Story: This coffee is sourced from Calguera Gomez S.A. De C.V.  and thirty seven surrounding family-owned farms located within the municipality of San Agustín Loxicha in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Coffee producers use their own micro-mill to process harvested cherries, which allows for meticulous care in depulping, fermenting, and drying the coffee.  Coffee is cultivated on farms that average 10 to 24 acres in size. The Calguera Gomez company aims to organize and support producers with access to the best agricultural practices and consequently pay high prices for higher quality coffee production.
